Academy is a unit of, and managed
by The GRD Trust, Kalaikathir Buildings,
963, Avanashi Road, Coimbatore –
641 037 which was established in 1979.
It was registered under the Public
Charitable Trusts Act by a Deed of
Trust dated 14.11.1979, later replaced
by an Amendment Deed registered on
1st September, 1999 at the Coimbatore
Sub Registrar’s Office as Document
Nos: 173 of 1999 and 1625 of 2004. |
| The
ownership and management of the Academy
vests with the Trust which exercises
academic and administrative control
through a duly constituted Governing
Council of which the Director is the
Secretary (Exofficio). |

 Dr.D.Padmanaban,
son of the Founder is a doctorate
in Management, is a distinguished
educationist – entrepreneur
of Coimbatore, who has built up the
several institutional units of the
Trust to their present levels of preeminence.
He is the Director of the Centre for
Research in Social Sciences, Technology
& Culture of the Trust, Chief
Editor of the trust’s scientific
monthlies WIDE SPECTRUM and KALAIKATHIR,
and Correspondent of the Educational
institutions of the Trust. As Member
Secretary of the Steering Committee
of the IGNOU sponsored Gyan Vani Educational
FM Radio (Coimbatore) Station and
as head of the partner institution
– Dr G R Damodaran College of
Science, he manages the Radio Station.

Prof.J.Srikanth has around 28 years
of work experience in industry, consultancy
and academics. He was the Director
of GRD Institute of Management for
the past 9 years (1996-2005) and has
taken up the Directorship of the Academy
from August 1, 2005. |

Academy is situated in its beautiful
2 1/2 acre campus in Neelambur on
the outskirts of Coimbatore city,
about 4.5 kms outside the Corporation
limits, on the National Highway (NH47)
connecting Coimbatore to Chennai /
Bangalore. The location is within
the region of contiguous industrial
and residential and other urban related
development of the city and is well
served by both local and mofussil
transport facilities and services.
The airy and uncongested location
free of adverse influences and pollution
invests the campus with the serenity
ideal for academic and intellectual
pursuits. |
