As an extension of the SUPW Programme, the students of this institution were taken out for a Field-trip covering the rural area in the Salem – Namakkal region where they obtained first hand information from the self-help groups and other projects funded by The GRD Trust. The students acquired technical know-how of Sericulture, Vermi-composting, making of chalk and also

PoP for the purpose of interior decoration and false ceiling, jatropha cultivation, mushroom cultivation hand weaving and power-loom weaving, making of paper cups and making of plates from palm leaves. The trip enables them to get an insight into the various alternate occupations available and the extra-curricular activities that can be taken up in schools.
