Progress in understanding of biological processes at the cellular and molecular level over the past 50 years has led to the emergence and rapid growth of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and allied subjects. Biosciences teachers at the school are not very familiar with these new developments that cover a wide arena both theoretical and practical, some of the aspects of which have recently entered the school currirula as well. This programme was specifically designed for school teachers. 14 teachers from various schools in Coimbatore had participated the same.
