Facilities
|
The
Physical Education Department has facilities for most of the outdoor
and indoor games. Physical facilities for all games have been provided
and services of coaches are enlisted as and when necessary to nurture
talents. Extensive playgrounds serve the needs of regular practice in
football, volleyball, basketball and cricket.
|
A
new open-air stadium (for basketball tournaments and the like) has been
built at a cost Rs.15 lakhs. It has a seating
capacity of 1500. A modern Indoor Stadium for Basketball, Badminton,
Gymnastics, etc. will soon be opened.
|
The
Physical Education Department organises the
Intramurals as well as the intercollegiate tournaments in Cricket,
Basketball, Chess, Table Tennis and Carrom
for the Dr.G.R. Damodaran
Trophy.
|
The
College players and athletes take part in all sports and games meets of
the CICAA and the Bharathiar University.
Many have won University blues, and outstanding performance has been
achieved in state level Basketball tournaments.
